"the best looking girls are staying inside"
I have rediscovered my love of Belle and Sebastian's If You're Feeling Sinister today as it plays in the changer with JV's Pixel Revolt, AC Newman's The Slow Wonder, Johnny Cash's American III: Solitary Man and John Mellencamp's Rough Harvest (shuddup, all of you). I guess that the B&S was just way too overplayed for a while, but damn if it wasn't fun just now to hear "Judy and Her Dream of Horses." See, occasionally I still discuss music, even if it is to rattle off a list of what's in the changer and to wax nostalgic for the 9-7.
In other ranting, I went shopping with my girl-gang compatriot Miss Martha on Sunday, and we went to the American Apparel store on Walnut. Does anyone else remember the Units stores that were mall staples in the mid- to late-'80s? Well, AA is the new Units. All their stuff looks like it can convert from a skirt into a tube top. Sorry, guys, but putting slutty hipsters in your advertising isn't going to change the fact that you're a retread of really crappy separates for the casual lady. I don't care how many ironic mullets your salespeople have.
(That being said, there ain't no shame in my love of their plain and ringer T-shirts. Even if I do have to wear a ladies XL.)
