Two art exhibits of note opening in the next week or so, both featuring work by artists who also happen to be good folks, and worth your time and attention.
Twilight Time at the Realform Project Space (opening: 1/13) includes work from Jeremy Olson; if this is anything like the black-and-white work I saw of his over the summer, I daresay I will be unsettled in the best possible way. One such image can be seen here.
Brian Montuori‘s Intruder opens at ZiherSmith on 1/17; reportedly, sculptural equipment and paintings of icebergs are involved. Hell yes.
Fun fact: I spent one winter day in late 2001 hauling ass across the Lower East Side from the group show that Brian was in to the group show that Jeremy was in, and thereby felt hella cultured. I haven’t felt that cultured since, in fact.
