Just got through a problematic draft of a short story (for this reading, in fact). I think I have something workable as of now, which is a fine thing. The previous mixtape story I wrote was more or less a reaction to the themes of the song; this newer one has more to do with my own interactions with the song in question, though a number of elements (the setting, among others) tie it directly to the band, album, and song in question.

For what it’s worth, that’s The Spinanes, Strand, and “Winter On Ice”, respectively. And as for why it’s important to me….well, stop by Sound Fix on Thursday, as I’ll be endeavoring to explain just that.

Also in the works: a number of reviews, as well as the possibly insane goal of finishing a draft of the novel by month’s end. 31 on the 31st; strange.
