Finished reading Gula, the second volume of Matt Fraction and Fábio Moon’s Casanova, earlier this week. To say too much — to say anything about it, really — is to ruin large chunks of the plot. All I’ll say is that — to invoke two bands mentioned multiple times over the course of the series — it’s got New Pornographers sweep and thrill and Mountain Goats contemplation and synthesis. Damn good stuff.
