In the blogs section of Issue Oriented, Mike Olender talks about the soon-to-be-recorded third and final album from Burnt by the Sun, exploring the themes of the album and the writing process behind them.
Let me also add, in a none-too-neutral tone: hot damn, there’s going to be a third Burnt by the Sun album. I’m not a dedicated metal listener by any means, but given that Burnt by the Sun prominently featured guys who’d played in bands that had previously made my jaw drop — specifically, Endeavor and Discordance Axis — and incorporated the lyrical sensibility of the former and the wrenching rhythmic structure of the latter, I was hooked from the star. Essentially, this was a band that hit the gut and the brain with equal impact. Hard to argue with that, really.
