For the month of August, the Los Angeles Times’s Jacket Copy blog is running Rock Your Books Off, a series of posts about the areas in which books and music overlap. (There’s an explanation of the series here.) I will be contributing a few pieces to the series, and my first — a look at artists whose mediums of choice encompass both music and comics, is up now.

I should also mention that Zak Sally’s album Fear of Song, mentioned in passing in the piece linked above, is very, very good. (I’m hoping to expand on that description here or elsewhere in the coming weeks.)
