More information can be found here. But hey, don’t just take my word for it…
One: In the coming months, I will be attending many weddings. Therefore, I’m grateful for Achewood for providing a guide to etiquette there. (Potentially not safe for work.)
Two: Mike McGonigal on Spiritualized’s latest.
Three: Jessica Suarez on Sex and the City. (And, to spark some debate: Timothy Noah on the same, as it pertains to the [...]
New York’s cover story this week, essentially, focuses on the comments threads on Brownstoner to plumb the subconscious of many a recent (or not-so-recent) transplant to Brooklyn. And — I honestly wouldn’t have expected to have this reaction to an article that draws heavily from comment posts — it’s ridiculously spot-on. Read it here.
One: Rob Walker on reviving defunct brands, and the selective, not entirely reliable of the American consumer.
Two: Matt Fraction on the recent activities of your favorite filmmakers.
Three: Skyfarms, via Reihan Salam. My mind is blown.
For those of you in or near NYC: there’s an announcement on our first show of 2008 now up on the East River Music Project website.
Walked past this building, under construction a few blocks from where I live, the other day.
In this case, I’d say some aesthetic snarkiness is very much justified.
In the “fine things happening to good people” department: congrats, you guys. Warms my heart, it does.

Went to the City Reliquary today.
The City Reliquary is amazing.
Admittedly, it’s nearly impossible to say why. But it’s charming as hell, and has just enough completely nerd-friendly bits of history to be more fascinating than I’d expected. And the photo exhibit currently on display brought a smile to my face.
…because I am tired and just realized that the coffee I’ve been drinking all week — which is deeply tasty — is, in fact, decaf.
One: Justin Davidson speculates on the effect of the current election and economic situation on the arts. It’ll either encourage you or leave you sobbing beneath your desk, I suspect.
Two: I [...]
I subscribe to the Sunday Times. Sometimes, I don’t get a chance to read it and I end up with a few piled up. Sometimes, the folks housesitting when I’m out of town (i.e. my recent trek to SXSW) have something of a sense of humor with respect to this. Ergo: this.
One: Can’t argue with Tracy Wilson doing back-to-back posts on the greatness of Life Without Buildings and The Spinanes.
Two: Via Gothamist, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn talks housing in NYC.
Three: Given that I’m kind of a The Atlantic nerd — it and The Believer are the two magazines I more or less read in their [...]
